What is the prognosis of diastolic dysfunction at heart failure compared with systolic dysfunction? 

Sanderson:
Many large-scale trials have shown that they are very similar. But there is a lot of debate about these results because a high proportion  of the patients with heart failure and normal ejection fraction are older and have many co-morbidities and their mortality may be driven more by their co-morbidity than their heart disease.  But whatever， I think the prognosis is not that dissimilar.  This is a group of patients for whom we have little treatment， apart from diuretics， and it is a group of patients we need to concentrate on a bit more.
