[ACC2010]对II型糖尿病患者而言,血压控制在减少心血管死亡和全因死亡方面的作用--William C. Cushman教授专访
<International Circulation>:
In your clinical experience, what’s the best way to prevent and treat hypertension especially in those patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus?
<Prof Cushman>:
Certainly lifestyle should be a cornerstone of both prevention and treatment. We have very good evidence that good lifestyle of diet, exercise, weight loss will help to prevent diabetes and that comes from the Diabetes Prevention Program. There is a lot of observational data but even some long-term follow-up of some intervention trials with lifestyle, that there are even cardiovascular benefits for lifestyle even though we probably cannot do a long-term randomized cardiovascular outcomes study. Clearly lifestyle has a major role there. With respect to drugs, we have very good evidence that treating diabetics with certain classes of drugs and to get the blood pressure below 140mmHg, is clearly beneficial in preventing cardiovascular events.
